Weekly Torah Portion:
Pesach IExodus 12:21-51
HaftarahJoshua 5:2-6:1
Exodus 12:21-51
Exo 12:21 Then Mosheh called for all the elders of Yashar’el, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the Pecach (Passover).
Exo 12:22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
Exo 12:23 For YAHUAH will pass through to smite את eth-the Mitsriym; and when he sees את eth-the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, YAHUAH will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
Exo 12:24 And ye shall guard את eth-this thing for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever.
Exo 12:25 And it shall come to pass, when ye are come to the land which YAHUAH will give you, according as he has promised, that ye shall guard את eth-this service.
Exo 12:26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
Exo 12:27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of YAHUAH’S Pecach, who passed over the houses of the children of Yashar’el in Mitsrayim, when he smote את eth-the Mitsriym, and את eth-delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
Exo 12:28 And the children of Yashar’el went away, and did as YAHUAH had commanded את eth-Mosheh and Aharon, so did they.
The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn
Exo 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight YAHUAH smote all the firstborn in the land of Mitsrayim, from the firstborn of Phar`oh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
Exo 12:30 And Phar`oh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Mitsriym; and there was a great cry in Mitsrayim; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
Exo 12:31 And he called for Mosheh and Aharon by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Yashar’el; and go, serve את eth-YAHUAH, as ye have said.
Exo 12:32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.
The Exodus
Exo 12:33 And the Mitsriym were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.
Exo 12:34 And the people took את eth-their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
Exo 12:35 And the children of Yashar’el did according to the word of Mosheh; and they borrowed of the Mitsriym jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:
Exo 12:36 And YAHUAH gave the people את eth-favour in the sight of the Mitsriym, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled את eth-the Mitsriym.
Exo 12:37 And the children of Yashar’el jour neyed from Ra`amcec to Cukkoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
Exo 12:38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
Exo 12:39 And they baked matstsah cakes of את eth-the dough which they brought forth out of Mitsrayim, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Mitsrayim, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
Exo 12:40 Now the sojourning of the children of Yashar’el, who dwelt in the land of Mitsrayim, and in the land of Kena`an, they and their fathers, was four hundred and thirty years.
Exo 12:41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of YAHUAH went out from the land of Mitsrayim.
Exo 12:42 It is a night to be much observed unto YAHUAH for bringing them out from the land of Mitsrayim: this is that night of YAHUAH to be observed of all the children of Yashar’el in their generations.
Institution of the Passover
Exo 12:43 And YAHUAH said unto Mosheh and Aharon, This is the ordinance of the Pecach: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
Exo 12:44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
Exo 12:45 A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat thereof.
Exo 12:46 In one house shall it be eaten; you shall not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
Exo 12:47 All the assembly of Yashar’el shall keep it.
Exo 12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with you, and will keep the Pecach to YAHUAH, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
Exo 12:49 One Torah shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourns among you.
Exo 12:50 Thus did all the children of Yashar’el; as YAHUAH commanded את eth-Mosheh and את eth-Aharon, so did they.
Exo 12:51 And it came to pass the selfsame day, that YAHUAH did bring את eth-the children of Yashar’el out of the land of Mitsrayim by their armies.

Jos 5:2 At that time YAHUAH said unto El-Yahusha, Make you sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Yashar’el the second time.
Jos 5:3 And Yahusha made him sharp knives, and circumcised את eth-the children of Yashar’el at the hill of the foreskins.
Jos 5:4 And this is the cause why Yahusha did circumcise: All the people that came out of Mitsrayim, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Mitsrayim.
Jos 5:5 Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Mitsrayim, them they had not circumcised.
Jos 5:6 For the children of Yashar’el walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Mitsrayim, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of YAHUAH: unto whom YAHUAH swore that he would not show them את eth-the land, which YAHUAH swore unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that flows with milk and honey.
Jos 5:7 And את eth-their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Yahusha circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way.
Jos 5:8 And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.
Jos 5:9 And YAHUAH said unto El-Yahusha, This day have I rolled away את eth-the reproach of Mitsrayim from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.
First Passover in Canaan
Jos 5:10 And the children of Yashar’el encamped in Gilgal, and kept את eth-the Pecach (Passover) on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Yeriycho.
Jos 5:11 And they did eat of the old grain of the land on the morrow after the Pecach, matstsah (unleavened bread) cakes, and parched grain in the selfsame day.
Jos 5:12 And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old grain of the land; neither had the children of Yashar’el manna anymore; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Kena`an that year.
The Commander of the Lord's Army
Jos 5:13 And it came to pass, when Yahusha was by Yeriycho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Yahusha went unto him, and said unto him, Are you for us, or for our adversaries?
Jos 5:14 And he said, Nay; but as Captain of the Host of YAHUAH am I now come. And Yahusha fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What says my lord unto his servant?
Jos 5:15 And the Captain of YAHUAH’S Host said unto El-Yahusha, Loose your shoe from off your foot; for the place whereon you stand is holy. And Yahusha did so.
Jos 6:1 NOW Yeriycho was straitly shut up because of the children of Yashar’el: none went out, and none came in.
